Bank Founder
The inception of GCCB started in January 1924. Well known members of the Co-operative sectors of Gujarat met together in a meeting under the leadership of Late Khansaheb Rustomji Ratanji Dalal. Honourable persons from all over Gujarat were present in the meeting and as a fruit of this, the GCCB was setup.
Initially 40 shares were bought by Rustomji at a price of Rs. 1000 to encourage the general public to take part in this movement. Many other renowned people bought the shares after this and hence, a resonable fund was gathered for the startup of the bank. Thus, the bank was formed on March 07, 1924. The bank had its first ever General Meeting on 5th March 1925.
